The fit on my 16-35 is perfect—it's snug but still allows easy access to the zoom ring. I've already dropped the lens once on concrete and the cover absorbed the scrape with no damage.

Took it out for a weekend shoot in the rain, and the cover kept my lens completely dry while still letting me zoom smoothly. The fit around the 16-35 is snug and doesn't slip, which I was worried about. Feels solid enough to handle a few bumps against rocks, too.
