LensCoat® Sigma 170-500

After years of hauling this lens around, I'm relieved to finally have a bit of armor against scratches—the neoprene is thick enough to absorb minor bumps without adding too much bulk. The camo pattern definitely helps me stay a little less conspicuous when shooting wildlife.

The cutouts line up perfectly with the lens controls, so I don’t have to wrestle with it when I need to adjust the zoom quickly. It’s already saved me from a couple of scrapes against the car door, and the camo pattern makes it look like part of my kit instead of an afterthought.

Snug fit right out of the box, and the fabric has a nice grippy texture that doesn’t slide around when I’m hiking with the lens on my shoulder. It’s already saved the barrel from a couple of knocks against tree branches, and the resale peace of mind alone is worth it.
