LensCoat® Nikon 500VR

After years of hauling this lens around, the neoprene padding is a lifesaver—it finally absorbs the minor bumps that used to leave scuffs. I love how the snug fit doesn't interfere with the controls at all.

The camo pattern genuinely breaks up the lens's outline in the field—birds didn't spook nearly as fast as before. It also adds a nice layer of armor against the inevitable brush scrapes, and the fit around the focus ring is snug without being a fight.

Slipping this on my 500 f/4 took about five minutes and the fit is snug, so no flapping in the wind. The camouflage pattern really does break up the lens silhouette when I'm shooting from a blind, and it's already saved my gear from a few brush scrapes.
